Chronic Disease Management
Improving overall well-being
Wellness U's Chronic Disease Management Program is a group exercise class that is led by certified exercise physiologists and health coaches. The goal of the program is to improve the participant's overall well-being by incorporating accountability, motivation and coaching. A variety of cardiovascular and strength-training equipment such as bikes, treadmills, and weights is used during this class.

- Rehabilitation graduates
- Weight-loss participants
- Individuals with metabolic syndrome
- People who are at risk for or have chronic disease
- Individuals with osteoporosis
- People with a low fitness level
What is a chronic disease?
The U.S. National Center for Health Statistics qualifies a disease as chronic when it has lasted for more than 3 months. Some of these diseases may be permanent, while others can be remedied with proper care. In either case, a proper health plan can minimize their effects and possibly allow patients to live normal lives.
The following can be qualified as chronic diseases:
- Diabetes
- Cancer
- Arthritis
- Cardiovascular disease
- Aftereffects of stroke
- Epilepsy
