Laboratory
Medical testing and analysis
The HRRMC Laboratory provides outpatient services and inclusive laboratory services for HRRMC inpatients.
Note:
In February, the HRRMC Lab expanded its services to Salida Health Center, offering full-scope lab testing, including our cash-based Direct Access panel of tests (exception: no drug screening is available at this time).
This is a convenient new option for patients of Salida Health Center. In many instances, patients can utilize same-day lab services after primary care appointments, as well as walk-in for cash-based pricing on a variety of direct access tests where no provider order is needed.
The laboratory draw room is located near the new Medical Records department area on the left side of the building (when walking through the main entrance).
The HRRMC laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, an accreditation program designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all lab patients.
In-house capabilities include blood tests, body fluid analysis, microbiology and pathology. HRRMC has a blood bank on-site and is part of the Bonfils Blood Bank System.

Some laboratory tests require 10-12 hours of fasting. Please ask your doctor or call the lab to find out what preparations you need to make before your test.
*If your lab work does NOT require fasting, it is advised to come in the afternoon as the mornings tend to be busy with individuals who are required to fast or must get their test in the morning. Afternoon wait times tend to be less.*
Appointments are not necessary. Please call for an appointment only if these hours do not meet your needs. The laboratory is staffed 24 hours a day for inpatients and emergencies. Kindly check in at the hospital's main registration desk during business hours Monday-Friday. After hours and on weekends, please register in the Emergency Department.
Direct Access Testing (DAT)
Direct Access Testing is available at all of our locations with the exception of Antero Pavilion. Patients are able to order lab tests from a set menu of tests at discounted prices without a doctor's order. No appointment is necessary, with the exception of South Park Health Care, which does require an appointment. Patients should register at the front desk of the hospital or clinic. Cash, check or credit card payment is due at the time of service. Your insurance will not be billed. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Test results will be mailed to patients. It is your responsibility to share results with your medical provider.
