Painting exhibit by Salida artist Patricia Aguilar now on display at HRRMC
SALIDA, Colo.— A collection of original, abstract, impressionist paintings from Salida artist Patricia Aguilar are on display at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) now through June 30 of this year.
Aguilar created the collection on exhibit by experimenting and playing with patterns, textures, black and white and color, allowing herself to be taken on an adventure across the canvas. The collection Aguilar created for this exhibit are abstract, intuitive pieces where the viewer is invited to have their own experience.
“Intuitive painting describes my journey best. I’ve learned to listen to my inner voice and respect the journey. I’ve learned to take risks, accept rejection, and create something amazing for others to enjoy,” explained Aguilar.
Living in New Mexico for many years, she found connection and inspiration in the open skies and majestic mountains. Aguilar has no formal art training but after dedicating twenty five years of her life to teaching, she found herself in need of creative expression. She began experimenting with acrylics and found herself in love with a new path, one that would change her life. Aguilar sees art as a meditation, helping her navigate life’s journey through motherhood, traveling, business ownership, and now finding a new home in Salida.
