John R. Tucker selected as new HRRMC President

SALIDA, Colo. — After several months of the search process, HRRMC has extended an offer for the role of President to John R. Tucker, FACHE. Mr. Tucker has accepted the offer and will start his new role on January 2, 2025.

Mr. Tucker was one of three finalists for the President position. HRRMC took feedback into consideration from the board of directors, members of the medical staff, executive leadership team and managers when making its final decision on the most qualified candidate. Many noted Mr. Tucker’s transparency, approachable personality and expertise in the nuances of critical access hospital operations.

He was also described as having an “eye for financial growth,” being “trustworthy and confident, but also modest” and “thoughtful and interested in staff opinions on strengths, challenges and opportunities.”

Mr. Tucker’s experience includes 23 years in rural healthcare systems, and 18 years in CEO positions at Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) and Rural Prospective Payment System (PPS) hospitals across the southern region of the U.S., as well as previously in Trinidad, Colo. Mr. Tucker prides himself on a transparent and friendly leadership style, focused on patient, physician and staff satisfaction while diligently stewarding organizational resources.

Having familiarity with a majority of healthcare organizations in the state - and particularly southern Colorado - Mr. Tucker “has always been aware of what an exceptional organization HRRMC is.”

“HRRMC has a unique ability to expand care available to the entire Arkansas Valley, and continue to provide care normally only available on the Front Range,” said Mr. Tucker.

Mr. Tucker holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Harding University, and a Master of Science degree in Health Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

HRRMC CEO Bob Morasko will remain CEO on a part-time basis once Mr. Tucker begins his tenure.
