Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is proud to announce their 2019 scholarship has been awarded to Claire Shepherd of Salida High School.
Shepherd is a graduating senior who has declared a major in integrated physiology/kinesiology at the University of Utah or the University of Colorado. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree, she plans to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy.
Prerequisites of the scholarship include interest in pursuing a career in the health care field and a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. The applicant must be a senior attending a high school in Buena Vista, Cotopaxi or Salida and a resident of the Salida Hospital District.
This scholarship is renewable annually for $1,000 for four years.
