A partial power outage at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center on Saturday morning, March 16, impacted the hospital’s phone service and computer systems. The power outage was related to a repair being done on an electrical switch.
Emergency phones and radios were deployed to hospital departments to maintain communication. The hospital implemented its downtime procedures to continue essential patient-care services.
Once the electrical repair was completed, staff from HRRMC’s Information Systems and Plant Operations departments worked to restore the systems that were impacted by the power outage. The gastrointestinal clinic at the hospital’s Specialty Clinic was postponed but other patient-care areas remained operational, including the walk-in clinic at the hospital’s Buena Vista Health Center.
The hospital’s phone system and computer system were back up by 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Calls are going through to the hospital’s phones, including the main number (719) 530-2200.
