The HRRMC Urology Clinic is offering free prostate exams on Monday, June 17, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., in recognition of Men’s Health Month. Dr. Bradford Moss, a board-certified urologist, will provide the screenings at the HRRMC Outpatient Pavilion, 1000 Rush Dr., Salida.
No appointment is needed and walk-ins are welcome. Register for the free tests on the first floor of the pavilion.
The free exams are being offered to raise awareness of prostate cancer, which affects about one in nine men in their lifetime. The American Cancer Society estimates that about 174,650 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in 2019, and about 31,620 men will die from prostate cancer this year.
“We encourage men over age 50—or age 40 if they have a family history of prostate cancer—to have an annual prostate screening,” said Dr. Moss. “Prevention and early detection is the key to living a long, healthy life.”
