A free Breastfeeding Basics class will be offered to new and expectant mothers, regardless of where they will deliver. The class will be held on Jan. 30, from 6-7 p.m. in the second-floor conference rooms at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, 1000 Rush Dr., Salida.
The class will cover topics such as how to get the best start, proper latch, positioning, when to feed, maintaining milk supply, breast care, and postpartum lifestyle.
The instructor is Joni Baker, a registered nurse and certified lactation counselor at the HRRMC Family Birthing Center.
Participants are encouraged to come with questions and wear comfortable clothing. Infants are welcome.
