HRRMC Urology Services is offering free prostate exams on Monday, June 25, from 2 - 5 p.m., in recognition of Men’s Health Month. Dr. Bradford Moss, a board-certified urologist, will provide the screening exams at the HRRMC Medical Clinics, 550 West Highway 50, Salida.
No appointment is needed and walk-ins are welcome.
The free exams are being offered to raise awareness of prostate cancer which affects about 1 in 9 men in their lifetime. The American Cancer Society estimates that about 164,690 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in 2018, and about 29,430 men will die from prostate cancer this year.
“We encourage men over age 50—or age 40 if they have a family history of prostate cancer—to have an annual prostate screening,” said Dr. Moss. “Prevention and early detection is the key to living a long, healthy life.”
