HRRMC Medical Imaging Manager Duane Johnson was recognized as a Colorado Health Care Star by the Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) and American Sentinel University on Jan. 17. The award identifies Johnson as a stellar employee who makes a difference in health care.
Johnson was nominated by HRRMC Vice President of Patient Services April Asbury. “Duane is a patient-centered leader,” said Asbury. “His positive impact on Colorado health care is through improving the patient experience and modeling kindness and empathy for his employees.” Johnson has been employed with HRRMC since July 2002.
The Colorado Health Care Star award is part of a statewide health care recognition program sponsored by CHA and American Sentinel University, an accredited online provider of health care degrees and certificate programs. The program was launched in February 2015 to acknowledge professionals in Colorado who exceed expectations in the delivery of health care.
The Colorado Health Star Program selects 12 winners each year. Winners receive a $100 gift card, are featured on the Career Center section of the CHA website, and are honored at a recognition dinner where one recipient will have the opportunity to receive a full-tuition scholarship from American Sentinel University.
The award was presented to Johnson at the Salida hospital by CHA's Director of Career Services Kellie Bonthron.
