Wendy Oatis, M.D., J.D., has been added to Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center’s medical staff and will provide general oncology services at the hospital. Dr. Oatis is board-certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. She will join fellow HRRMC oncologist, Francene Mason, M.D., and physician assistant, Carol Johnson, PA-C, in the Specialty Clinic at the hospital.
Dr. Oatis has been providing coverage at HRRMC since August 2016, but only recently became an active member of the medical staff. Prior to her time with HRRMC, Dr. Oatis was in clinical practice at the University of Colorado Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.
Dr. Oatis graduated with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, and a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.
In addition to her medical training, Dr. Oatis has a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. She practiced law for 11 years before attending medical school.
