NOTICE: September 13, 2024: It has been brought to our attention that patients are receiving calls from people claiming to be from our clinic, asking for personal information. Please be aware of these suspicious calls, do not give out your information, and call us directly if you are unsure about the call you have received.

The Salida Health Center provides comprehensive primary care across the life span, and a weekday walk-in clinic for non-urgent medical treatments. Substance use treatment services are also available.

Regular Clinic Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Walk-in Clinic Hours:
Monday-Friday, 3-5 p.m. Do not come early. Please arrive when the walk-in clinic opens.

Walk-In Clinic Services

  • Walk-in clinic services are limited to mild sickness and minor injuries.
  • No appointments are available, and services are offered on a first come, first served basis. Sign-up/registration begins at 2:30 p.m.
  • Please note you may not be seen due to scheduling. We have a walk-in clinic available in Buena Vista if our walk-in clinic is full.

The walk-in clinic should be utilized when you are not able to schedule an appointment with your primary care provider (PCP), and would like to be seen quickly.

Please note: the walk-in clinic is not an urgent care, nor emergency room. Please do not come to the walk-in clinic with medical emergencies or life-threatening conditions.

Examples of medical emergencies and life-threatening conditions include:

  • Symptoms of heart attack or stroke
  • Spinal/head injuries
  • Uncontrollable bleeding
  • Large open wounds
  • Major broken bones

Please go to the nearest Emergency Room or call 911 if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.

Examples of sickness/injuries for visiting the walk-in clinic:

  • Bronchitis
  • Cough
  • Minor broken bones (fingers, toes)
  • Ear and sinus infections
  • Colds
  • Mild vomiting or diarrhea
  • Urinary tract infection (UTI)
  • Fever
  • Sprains
  • Sore throat

Clinic Services

Clinic services include adult and pediatric medicine, geriatrics, women's health, pregnancy care and minor office procedures. We accept Medicare, Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid) and most insurances. Payment/copay is due at time of service.

The Salida Health Center is a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site.

The clinic offers a sliding-fee payment scale for self-pay and uninsured patients based on income and family size.

It is the policy of the Salida Health Center to provide essential services to all patients, regardless of a patient's ability to pay. We also offer a discounted/sliding-fee payment scale. To learn more, or to download an application, click on the links below.

Women's Wellness Clinical Services

HRRMC's Women’s Wellness Connection (WWC) program offers free cervical cancer screenings/Pap smear tests and free breast cancer screenings/mammograms to women who qualify.

To be eligible, women must be between the ages of 21-64 years old, living within a specific income level, be uninsured or underinsured, and reside in Chaffee, Saguache, Custer, western Fremont, western Park, or Lake Counties.

Our Women’s Wellness Connection team provides the support you need to navigate the healthcare system. Community Health Coordinator Melanie Critelli can help to connect you with doctors, schedule appointments, and answer questions about preventative screenings – all at no cost to you.
