This 10-unit building will be located on the HRRMC Campus at 7164 CR 154, adjacent to the Rocky Mountain Eye Center and Sol Vista Health. The HRRMC Delnay Guest House will include fully-furnished one and two-bedroom units with a bathroom and kitchen. Four hospitality units will be available for charitable, overnight lodging for HRRMC and home health patients, caregivers or family members, as well as hospice patient’s family members who are traveling over 30 miles to Salida. Six units will provide HRRMC employees with affordable rentals for short-term use, while they seek more permanent housing in the area. Construction of this project is made possible due to a generous $1.5 million donation from the Robert and Bernice Delnay Trust. Land and site work were provided by the HRRMC Board. The HRRMC Foundation Board has committed $150,000 of the remaining estimated construction costs. The Picie Hylton Charitable Fund will cover operational costs for the four hospitality units.

2021 projects
ICU ventilation system upgrade: In December of 2021, with support from a grant awarded by the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) , HRRMC completed an upgrade to its ICU by creating patient rooms that function with a ventilation system known as negative pressure. Negative pressure rooms support infection control and isolation for patients who have highly contagious airborne illnesses including COVID, tuberculosis, SARS and MERS. This system, beneficial to both patients and staff, has become the standard of care in hospitals nationwide.
Women’s Wellness Care: Since 2015, we have been providing regular cancer screenings and early detection for qualified uninsured and underinsured women to receive cervical cancer and mammography screenings. This program is in partnership with the Colorado Women’s Wellness Care grant. We serve women in Chaffee, western Fremont, Saguache, Custer, western Park, and Lake Counties.
HRRMC clinics in Salida, Buena Vista, Saguache, and Westcliffe provide easy access for healthcare.
We also work directly with Heart of the Rockies Home Health and Hospice.
