About Janessa

Prior to graduate studies in Occupational Therapy, Janessa taught therapeutic horseback riding for five years, and earned a B.S. degree in Exercise, Health, and Sports Sciences from Oregon State University. She has since worked at Craig Hospital in Englewood, CO from 2013-2018, specializing in neuro-based rehabilitation for adults with spinal cord injuries and brain injuries. She joined HRRMC in 2019, and specializes in pediatrics, neurological based rehabilitation, wheelchair clinic, acute care, pre-shoulder surgery education, and working in the emerging program of Hippotherapy for children and adults.

She is currently completing her Level II Hippotherapy training in preparation for providing further equine based therapy services in Chaffee County.

When not working, she enjoys mountain biking, oil painting, cooking and exploring the mountains of Colorado with her husband and daughter.

She is passionate about optimizing independence, play and work/life balance for patients of all ages.
