Student Resources
Medical education
Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) is proud to be a Center of Excellence in Rural Training as designated by the University of Colorado in 2011. HRRMC welcomes students from many disciplines, including pharmacy, nursing, medicine and physical therapy as well as student nurse anesthetists and physician assistants. Many of our students find their clinical rotations to be vastly different in the rural healthcare setting than rotations completed in larger urban hospitals.
Clinical rotations are conducted with carefully selected preceptors who have the passion for healthcare and teaching required for our students to have a truly educational and enjoyable experience. Our preceptors have a hands-on approach to teaching that gives our students the very real experience of caring for patients. Clinical students joining us will be held to the same ethical standards as the rest of our staff and be given an opportunity to get extensive hands-on experience in the medical field.
If you are interested in a clinical rotation at our facility, please contact the Education Department via our email at peg.arnett@hrrmc.net.
About our community...
HRRMC is located in the beautiful Upper Arkansas Valley in central Colorado and is home to numerous recreational and outdoor activities. The metropolitan areas of Colorado Springs or Denver are just two to three hours away, but our community offers so many opportunities for things to do, you won’t have to travel often.
